When we were asked to cover the Afternoon of Bridal Luxury, Katie and I did not hesitate. The Atlantan Brides, is one magazine that we are proud to be involved with. And as you remember from our previous post, we had wonderful time documenting “I Will to I Do”. Below is a slideshow that we crafted together that sums up the event. We hope you enjoy it as much as we loved documenting it.

Beautiful. makes me want to go to a wedding.

Sue and Robert’s relationship made us smile since our first time meeting with them. Robert is quite the lover of all forms of communication and he works for Turner Entertainment. He loved to talk with us about cameras and gear and we had to remember why we were really meeting. : ) Sue is incredibly wonderful and has a sweet calming presence to her. Their personalities compliment each other in such a playful way. Their wedding was a wonderful joining of two families that kept us laughing all day long. Just entering into the scene it already felt like the two families were one. We had a hard time remembering who was on each side as they seemed to be the same. Enjoy these pictures that tell the story of this day, September 13th of 2008.

I composed this picture to show the city buildings in the background. Sue had a beautiful suite at the W Hotel to prepare in and I feel that this image shows the beautiful combination of her dress and the height of the emotions of her day.

Sue was looking back as her dress was secured. Such an elegant image of her.

The wedding and reception were held at The Piedmont Room at the Park Tavern.

Carla from On Occasions did a wonderful job as always. Not only does she do amazing work, but I just smile every time I see her. She adds such a calming presence to the day.

Robert is the oldest of four boys. One of his brothers, Chris, stood beside him as his best man. Here is when Robert saw Sue coming down the isle.

After the wedding we went to the park for a few casual portraits as the guests enjoyed cocktail hour.

Sugar Sweet Events was on hand to oversee all of the details.

We were thrilled to see them have Sweet Pocket cupcakes as their cake. If you live in Atlanta and have not tried these yet, they are a must!

Dancing….

This is Katie, Sue’s niece, and she is wearing the same necklace that Sue wore in her mother’s wedding (to the right of her). I found her playing with this token all evening as she reveled in the honor of being in her Aunt’s wedding. You can see in this image that she is young and completely unaware of her beauty. It was a joy to be around her.

Their exit.

We hope you are both having a wonderful time relaxing in Hawaii!

these are awesome pictures there are simply wonderful!!!!!!!!!

Sunday night we went to a local book signing. Our friend Leroy Barber has a mission to his community here in East Atlanta and has written a book, New Neighbor, about being a neighbor where ever you are. He is a great inspiration to us in how he serves other and the way he sees possibility. He is fighting social injustice and often makes us stop to think about the changes we could and should be making.

Here is an excerpt from his book:

“We are regularly bombarded with the message that our world is getting smaller. We have more information about more people and cultures than we’ve ever had before. Yet our sense of disconnectedness continues to grow. How is it that we know people in other cities or even other countries, yet know nothing of the lives of the people next door? New Neighbor challenges our assumptions about what a neighborhood could be. This vivid gallery of words and images gives us a glimpse into what Leroy Barber and many of his Mission Year team members are discovering about being a New Neighbor. It is an invitation to join this movement. To explore, question, wonder and wrestle with others who are longing to be New Neighbors.”

Chris did Leroy’s portraits over the summer and they were used in this book.

We just “found” your blog and website a few weeks ago through Cypress Albums, and love your work! Just sifting through older posts, I saw this one and am so glad you’re fans of Mission Year, too! One of our friends, Ashley Pharis, just finished Mission Year Chicago (and works for them, now) and is excerpted in Leroy’s book. Just had to share the coincidental connection. Keep up the great work–it’s inspiring more than just artistically!

Thanks for joining in this project to get Leroy’s stories out to the world. It was great to see the two of you at the release party. The shots are awesome! I haven’t seen many still photography or product shots by the two of you before…these are incredible. I want to see more! They make the book look super sweet.
