A little over a month ago sweet little Caroline Bohn was born. Our dear friend Emily wanted us to do some portraits of their new little family. Caroline could not be more perfect and we enjoyed meeting her. They are such wonderful parents and we so sweet with her. When they arrived they immediately let me hold her. They are great laid back parents and were fun to be around with her. Caroline’s little personality is still coming out and it was a joy watching them care for her.

This one might be my favorite image. Such a strong tenderness.

Is there anything sweeter than the curl of new hair at the crown of a new baby’s head?

Thank you SO much for doing our portraits and for being SO talented at what you do! These pictures are beautiful and so sweet.

Our clients! Yesterday I photographed a proposal in the morning. It never surprises me how my camera serves as a passport for me into the most intimate moments in the lives of others. Tayo and Rosemary were adorable and more on them to come. I just wanted to show you that in the mist of traveling from London, celebrating his birthday and planning a proposal, he still thought of doing something nice for me. He told me that he saw on our blog that I love tea and he had brought this for me. I thought it was so kind of him and in the middle of one long weekend of shooting it made me feel appreciated. Thank you Tayo and I am so excited for you both!

    Hi Katie,

We’ve just got around to visiting your website today. Thanks for being a part of our special moment and also for the note you left on your website. It has been an exciting story to tell over and over again and we can’t wait to see the pictures. Thank you again for everything and hope you enjoy the tea.

Yesterday was our niece Caroline’s 6th Birthday. We have a wedding today and will not be able to be at her party. So we wanted to make her actual birthday special. She started kindergarten this year and we knew she would be getting off the bus at 3 pm. We raced with all of our errands that we had yesterday and made it to the Flowers’ home by 2:47, whew! Then we walked to the front of their neighborhood and waited for the bus to arrive. The all too familiar sound of the large diesel engine roaring came over the hill and we saw the yellow school bus heading towards us. Then the stop sign was pushed out, and the accordion doors opened with a snap. Then from across the road came the most adorable rosy-cheeked little angel. Caroline turned the corner as she saw us. I saw her eyes light up and I don’t know that I have a more precious memory of her. Without a care in the world of the other kids on the bus she ran towards us with arms out stretched and pure delight on her face. I scooped her up and held on to her with all of my life. As she has started school she seems so much older and we can have conversations and she can read books and big words to us everywhere she goes. This moment was different. She seemed to be three again and showed us that we had made her day and all she wanted was to be held in our arms. It truly melted my heart and I never want to forget the pure genuine abandon that she ran to us with. I hope to approach life in this same way. We love you Caroline, Happy Birthday.

These pictures were from her birthday dinner last night.
