We hope that you all have enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday! Our baby is not here yet be we anxiously await day by day. We mentioned in our previous post about Punit & Carla that their wedding was a two day affair, with day one being an Indian celebration, showing Punit’s side of the family.
Day two was a celebration of Carla’s family’s Catholic traditions. Again, the day could not be made possible without my friend Andrew Niesen to aid in the absence of my darling wife, Katie in her pregnancy. This day took place at the beautiful John and Marble Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida. We began the day with the bride getting ready. She wore a gorgeous Amsale Ibiza dress, part of the Blue Label Collection. She accessorized with Chanel earrings and Jimmy Choo shoes.
The Ringling Art Museum is in a large outdoor area where you will find the Circus Museum and the Ca d’Zan Mansion as well. All over the outdoor campus were these magnificent banyan trees that had a wide coverage of branches that grew out and then down back into the ground. When we arrived I had to take advantage of the gorgeous light and the beautiful bride.
Then we relocated to the Ringling Mansion, Ca d’Zan to wait in this area before the ceremony started. I absolutely love her dress! The simple, yet elegant design of Amsale was just perfect!
Enter in the ring bearers! The two boys were just simply adorable!
The ceremony took place in the Rose Garden on the Ringling outdoor campus. It was unique in that rather having rows of chairs in front of a typical gazebo, they had the ceremony within a gazebo of stone pillars and a wrought iron detailed top, surrounded by rose bushes creating a close, intimate setting with the wedding guest surrounding every side. It was intriguing to see how vastly different the ceremony and traditions were that both days held. However, they did have a strong emphasis on family values and the bonds of marriage. It was truly evident to see through the parents of both Carla and Punit throughout the day.
Part of the joy of what we do is capturing these moments between a husband and wife for the first time and knowing they are getting more then just photographs. They are getting heirlooms. Heirlooms they can pass down to their future generations.
Once the ceremony ended, the couple had a few minutes to themselves.
The guests then moved to the Ringling Art Museum’s courtyard. The museum is just magnificent with Italian inspired architecture and sculptures that surrounded the whole courtyard. The museum boast a stately replica of the sculpture of David by Michelangelo that stands between tall magnificent palm trees. We took the couple around the building, capturing them around some of the noted architectural details.
The courtyard was planned out really well. With a few different levels lends itself for a different varieties to setup guest tables and makes for interesting design. Punit did an amazing job designing the layout and lighting of the evening! The lighting throughout the night on the walls and the stage was once more provided by Bay Stage Lighting. Also, if you look closely you can see the multiple sculptures on the top of the building on every side.
The table centerpieces and floral arrangements were beautifully designed by Palloo’s Flowers.
The cake was perfect! Tall tiered, with the body of blue along with yellow accents to create the ornate design done by Cakes by Ron.
A reception would not be a celebration without the dances! The first dance between the couple was classic. I love the one of Carla being spun out.
Getting closer to the birth of my little girl is making these father-daughter dances hit so much closer to home. To see the joy in Carla’s dad is just something special.
Now the mother-son dance hits really close to my heart. As one who has never experienced it. My mom passed away from a bout with cancer just a few years before Katie and I got married. Every mother-son dance I see I just hope that the groom is taking in that moment and relishes it every second of it.
In between Punit and Carla’s dances they had a moment of reflections and toast and it was a joy to see the two of them interacting and reminded me of the night before and how they just loved on each other then too!
Let the celebration continue! The fusion of Carla and Punit’s family and friends and the kindness shared with one another was inspiring.
Congratulations Punit & Carla! Katie and I wish you the best in your lives together. Thank you for the honor of 6 of Four to capture your celebration!
I should say that this wedding is very extravagant and traditional. The bride and groom look lovely together, and the reception is very organized and with a lot of lights, its pretty romantic as well.
