Whitney and Stephen – Married

Soon following the Kindergarten wedding (keep checking back here to see some of the fun photographs), Whitney and Stephen were married here in Atlanta. The ceremony took place in the gorgeous First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, located right next door to the High Museum of Art. The reception was held at The Foundry at Puritan Mill.  A simple urban event space that, under the creative care of a decor specialist, can be transformed into something amazing!

Whitney and Stephen both have a unique approach to life and it was evident in their love and their wedding. Whitney is an artist and has a studio here in Atlanta where she paints. Her vision of life and art was intricately woven through their wedding and reception. The bright colors and design obviously came from a creative mind. Not to mention, both Whitney and Stephen come from strong family bonds, making this a very special day.

There is something to be said for having a good event coordinator to help the couple visualize the plans, planned and decided months in advance,  come to fruition. Every partner working together from photographers, floral designers, caterers, etc.  When all these many details are safely under the direction of a coordinator it is so easy for all the plans to come together in harmony. This was the case with Susan Pando and her team of professional coordinators. They did a wonderful job making sure the guests were happy and everything flowed seamlessly!

It was a fairy tale day. Enjoy looking through the pictures of their celebration, the tender moments and beautiful decor!

Whitney had custom bracelets made for all of her bridesmaids. This is one that she wore. Each one was made with with a special stone on the end that is similar to a unique rock that Whitney keeps in her purse.

Typewriters play a large role in the love Whitney and Stephen share and their dating relationship. He has one that he uses to write love letters to Whitney. This letter was sent to her as she was getting dressed for their beautiful day.  On it is written:

To My Bride,

I’ll see you soon…

Love,

SBB

Whitney was stunning in her Vera Wang gown that was obtained, with the help of wonderful staff, at Impressions. The soft fabric layers caught the light ever so delicately. This gown was certainly gorgeous and Whitney looked absolutely stunning in it! Her hair was beautifully done by the talented Selden Babylouni at Four Seasons Atlanta. We also enjoyed seeing the makeup and hair of the bridesmaids, completed by Steve Moore Agency.

A little preview of the wonderful florals at the reception. The colors were a beautiful mix and was definitely not over done! They were artfully designed by John Burns of Flora.

Whitney and her mom obviously have a sweet relationship and were so precious together. There is something so wonderful about the relationship between a mother and daughter. We, at home, are seeing the bond grow between Katie and Rosemary. How beautiful it is!

The love that Stephen exhibited all day was inspiring. He is a gentleman at heart, with wisdom to share.

Stephen preparing to walk his mother down for seating, enjoying a moment with his soon to be mother-in-law.

If you remember from one of our last posts, there was a tender moment between Whitney and her dad as he saw her for the first time in her dress. To think, that this is just moments before he hands her over to another man for safe keeping and care for the rest of her life. We can only imagine what might be going through his mind.

To mention the family bonds is to tell of the honor that Stephen’s dad must have had. He is a Presbyterian minister and really did a wonderful job with presiding over his son’s wedding.

Moments after becoming man and wife. What a tender moment it is!

As we move to The Foundry at Puritan Mill, the guest were greeted with Whitney’s paintings as they hung in the entryway leading to the reception.

John with Flora did an amazing job with bright cascading colors in the urban setting. Perfectly set the stage for a gorgeous reception.

You might have guessed the typewriter theme by now. They had these antiques in place of traditional guest books! The guest would type a personal message for the couple on a single sheet.

Have you ever seen such a unique cake? Whitney and Stephen were trying to figure out what kind of cake they wanted. So they went to her studio and played around with the design in paint. This is what they came up with. Didn’t Mark Lotti of Classic Cheesecakes do a great job fulfilling their vision?

The ambiance was magical. That evening Chris found out that the whole inspiration behind this wedding, unbeknownst to him, was a photograph that was captured at Celeste & Kyle’s wedding last July. Whitney’s mom saw this photograph in the latest issue at that time, of Martha Stewart’s Destination Weddings & Dream Honeymoons, in an ad for Modern Trousseau. She took this page and made a copy of it and gave it to each vendor that participated to give each vendor inspiration to draw from. What an honor and a surprise when we found out about that.

Their fun first dance.

Ah! You can see the joy as they enjoy the remarkable detail in their wedding cake!

Groom’s cake, of course, was modeled after the very typewriter Stephen used to craft his letters to Whitney.

Added Touch did an amazing job catering the celebration with such variety and all displayed with care. Here were a few items in the dessert area that caught my eye.

Their grand exit!

Whiney & Stephen, thank you for the honor of including us on your day to document this first chapter together. As the page is turned on this tale of yours, I hope you hold fast to the love you two share! We certainly wish you guys the best on your future together as husband and wife.
