Little Gavin is our nephew and is five and a half months old. He’s such a little sweet heart and we just ate him up during his session. He was so excited and ready to flash those baby blues for me to capture.

It is such a joy seeing our family growing with all the little cousins. We love you little Gavin!

These are way precious. I have not seen too many pictures of him so loved seeing what a cute little guy he is! Congrats again Charlie and Maggie!

Today is our 5th Anniversary not to be confused with 6 of Four (the 6th of the Fourth month – when we met). We are relaxing at our favorite Old Edwards Inn and Spa in Highlands, NC. We are thrilled to be here and enjoying four days of relaxation and alone time. We feel completely spoiled and rejuvenated. We are reminded just how important it is to take time to invest in our marriage and each other.

It’s been a time of thinking through the last five years. Talking about the good time as well as the trying times. We continue to see how important it is for us to learn from the past in the good and bad. As we know how it shapes our future. We are both feeling nostalgic as we can’t believe where we’ve come and how blessed we’ve been in every area of our life. It’s incredible to see and to think through. It also reminds us how important it is to remain humble and grateful.

We’ve thought through how we’ve both changed in the past five years. The one major change in our marriage was becoming parents. We can easily say it was the best thing either of us has ever done. We’ve seen our lives and our outlooks transformed further than we could have imagined. We are so grateful for our sweet girl and how she’s made us more in love with each other and with life.

To all of our couples – continue to date, continue to invest in each other and seeing the good in the one you love. What a joy it is to be married and to know this love. Treasure it and fight for your it.

All our love,

Chris and Katie

As you can see below we’ve definitely been loved on a lot while we have been here by our friends at Old Edwards and Oakleaf. Their kindness and ever present smiles have made our stay absolutely perfect.

The Bowling Family is one that we’ve been photographing for several years. We’ve seen their family grow and change. You might think that is a big family! Well, they have even more kids than this too. : ) They are a WinShape Homes Family and besides their own four biological children they also open their home to many others that need a safe place. Many of their children have already gone to college, married and now have children of their own. They keep getting more children and loving on those who need it.

We think the world of the WinShape Foundation and of Doug and Julie. Heart so big and extend their arms to many.
