This week our friend Jeff asked us to be a part of a lunch group that gets together once a quarter here in Atlanta. Jeff has started this group and we are so happy to know about it. It’s a group of artists, musicians, leaders, business men and women as well as pastors that meet at One Midtown Kitchen for lunch. Then they have guests speak about current projects to bring awareness followed by a speaker. We were one of the guests speaking about Recapture. We loved sharing our passion with around 80 in attendance. We also brought our work to share with them.

Then Donald Miller (author of: Blue Like Jazz) was the speaker. He kept us thinking and laughing the entire time. He spoke on story and how each us have one. I thought about how, as photographers, Katie and I both enjoy capturing that story. Whether the people we capture are in a wonderful chapter of their life that is about a new addition to the family or a union of two. Or a chapter that is about rebuilding and restoration. Also what a privilege that we have, that people want us to come into their lives to document those chapters.

We were thrilled to be a part of this quarter’s lunch and look forward to being involved with these leaders and visionaries of Atlanta.

That second one! Oh yeah! Can’t wait to see the wedding=)

I love it when our past brides and grooms start their families and come back to us for portraits. It’s such a joy to see their new life starting together. Josh and Jenn had a busy year with a wedding, trip to Egypt, surgery, pregnancy and now a premie! What a year it has been. I’m so glad to see them is this new role as parents. It seems to be suiting them perfectly. Jenn’s parents were in town and I loved that we were able to get some pictures of Adler with them. This is their first grandchild and they are absolutely smitten! 🙂 So sweet.

Jenn is such a great mother. She is calm and relaxed. I admired how in control and content she is with this new addition.

Adler had a rough night before I arrived. He decided to catch up on his sleep while I was there. It worked perfectly for me….maybe not so much for Jenn and Josh the night before though.

I love the hands of a mother. So graceful and strong.

Now here we have a grandmother’s hands surrounding this beautiful new babe. Such stories are written on her hands and I love how Adler is completely secure in her.

Grandma and Grandpa with Adler. I would give the world for pictures of myself like this with my grandparents.

What a wonderful series of images of generations of their family! The photos will become even more meaningful to them – and little Adler – as they grow together. You guys always do such beautiful work depicting family.
