Last night a tornado hit downtown Atlanta. We were out when it happened. It ripped through just a few blocks from our building. It severely damaged the Olympic Park, CNN building, flattened some lofts and took down 20 homes in Cabbagetown. It looks really bad out there. We are safe and our building is OK. We are still without power though. I am posting this from my iPhone.

Another issue is we’ve been dealing with our server, and it is effecting our email. You might be some of the ones trying to email us, but getting themb ouncing back. We respond to email quickly. If you have not heard back from us, then please try again. Please copy the email to chris.w.torres@gmail.com to make sure we receive it.

Thank you for your patience as we deal with both technical difficulties.

Katie

Glad to hear you and Chris are okay…I was coming to get your email to check on you and saw your post thank goodness!

Good to hear you are okay. Sue and I thought of you when things happened last night.

We use Cypress Albums and love them for their unique qualities. We received another studio sample in today and thought we would share the joys of opening a box from them. Their attention to detail and delicate way of delivery has won us over as clients. If you are one of our couples who selected Cypress as your album, this is what you have to look forward to. This is one of their smaller albums. We wanted one to display some of our Indian Wedding images. We have their larger album already in our studio.

It comes with a carrying bag to protect it if you have to travel with it.

One of our favorite details is the name and ribbon.

Of course the deckled edges and beautiful pages.

Thank you for taking the time to show such attention to detail! I am currently looking into Cypress Albums for my clients and I love the close up details you’ve photographed! Do you find that your clients understand and appreciate that these albums are handmade, which sets them apart from other standard albums?

    love it

OK, we are trying to get back in the swing of things here. I know that my Monday tradition of Katie’s Favorites has been over looked. So, we wanted to get that back going.

Here is one of our new favorites. Unfortunately, you’ll have to go to Thailand to get it. : )

It’s Mango and Sticky Rice. First off, we are addicted to sticky rice. Then you add a perfectly ripe Thailand mango to it and it’s heaven. They take the sweet sticky rice and put it beside the sliced mango. Then they pour (I thought sweetened condensed milk but it’s really) coconut milk over the rice and put shaved dried soy beans on top. OH MY GOODNESS. It just melts in your mouth. Due to the calorie in take, I only allowed myself a few bites.

I hate that you are making Chris be right! ; ) He thought it was coconut milk and I thought sweetened condensed milk. HA!

  • Mike and Judy - March 11, 2008 - 10:01 am

So sorry to correct you– but it is coconut milk in the rice– not sweetened condensed milk– (much better)– I’ll eat some this week for you. We miss you!!

that condensed milk is addictive 🙂 yum, reminds me of Thai style iced tea.
