This noon we went to the Highland Bakery in Atlanta. Scarlett is in town and we met up with the ladies from LaCour .

We had a great time in this bustling little bakery. We all enjoyed the warm tomato and basil soup on this brisk January day. Rachel enjoyed a nice spinach salad… 😉 yummy….

We had fun taking pictures and trying to figure out point and shoot cameras. 🙂

We were working on our self portrait skills.

Enjoy!

The portrait would not be complete if Rachel’s phone was not a part of the party! 😀

We’re such supermodels!!! What a wonderful Lacourliscious Captivating Creation!

Today we were in Vinings at Kris and Michele’s Wedding. Their wonderful ceremony was at the Pace House and the Reception was at The Vining’s Club. We loved how the ceremony was decorated. So fresh and clean. You would have thought Real Simple or Martha Stewart were involved in the decorations! Michele was beautiful and as gracious as could be. Kris was the ever caring groom as he always had Michele’s interest in mind. Enjoy the pictures from today. At the end we will tell you about our evening after the wedding!

A Remembered Detail did the planning for the wonderful day and Formal Faces did the makeup.

Kri’s wedding present to Michele were pearls.

Jillian was the flower girl. She did a great job and was the mini princess of the day!

Inside the tea cup are Kris and Michele’s rings. On the side is Michele’s mother’s ring.

We loved the bouquet! Oh, the colors were perfect!

What a beautiful and peaceful bride.

Michele’s gift to Kris were cuff links.

Jillian did a great job getting down the isle. Once she was done, she didn’t know where to go. SO, she leaped into my lap at the front of the church. It was funny. I was watching it unfold through the lens, I quickly realized that she wasn’t stopping.

Kris’ Grandma Phillips officiated over the ceremony. It was tender to do for her grandson. What a great memory this will be.

What had fun in the elevator! 🙂

The two of us! 😀

Later that night we went to Aspen’s at the West Cobb Avenue. We had a wonderful meal of ribs and trout. We had to wait a while for dessert. Our waitress, Jean, was great! She felt so bad. She had it taken off our bill. We told her not to worry about it and that it was OK…her response?…”no, I’m for you!” That really made me think! She works for Aspens, but that night, it made us feel like she worked for us. That she was loyal to us and would be in our corner to fight for us even if we didn’t think she needed to. This is how we want our clients to feel. We are for you! Thanks Jean for this lesson!

Also, thanks to Kris and Michele for a great day!

Chris and Katie

Nice work Katie and Chris! Looks like you had a great day, and wedding season is off with a bang!

Chris went on a hiking trip in NC with his guy friends. The girls in my family and I went on our annual ‘Girl’s Weekend.’ We were two very different trips! We will tell you the stories in pictures below. We’ll start with my trip. 🙂

We did some light shopping and then went to our hotel room to relax and read. From many suggestions, I am reading Love is the Killer App by Tim Sanders. It’s starting as a great read for me, even though it normally takes me forever to get through a book.

Did I metion that my little brother proposed to Maggie on Friday night?!?!! Yea! They will be getting married this December. So, we had to pick up a bridal magazine.

We all love Real Simple magazines, Elizabeth picked up this one on Celebrations.

For the first time, my mother is the ‘Mother of the Groom.’ She is actually going to be the ‘Mother of the Groom’ twice this year as my other brother Ben and his fiance Anna will be getting married in June!

Here is a picture of the beautiful ring! It was Maggie’s Grandmother’s ring. Charlie took a ruby out of the center and placed an AMAZING diamond in it’s place.

OK, most that know me know that I’m a health NUT! We were a few miles from a new Trader Joe’s, so we stopped in and shopped for yummy food in our hotel room.

Here a few of the yummies that I found.

I love the little red carts!

Some yummy sushi!

After we came back to the hotel room, we enjoyed all of our savories and sushi in bed…does it get any better?

The next day was filled with shopping and lunch at Jason’s Deli, the whole time was great! Banana Republic had some great sales! I bought two new beautiful black sweaters for weddings. Us photographers can never have too many black articles of clothing in different styles!

Now for Chris’ trip:

He had to take our little Canon Elph SD 600 camera. It was to be pouring rain on Sunday…which it did…so he had to take our baby camera instead of the big boys. We didn’t want to risk anything happening to them. The pictures were from the first day while the weather was good. On the way out though the cold rain, wind and fog set in.

This is on a trail in the Shining Rock Wilderness in Pisgah National Forest.

They did several trails in the course of two days. They did a total of 19 miles.

We all made it home safe and sound. We hope your weekend was a fun one as well!

  • Anonymous - January 8, 2007 - 9:12 am

As mother, I really believe I am correct in saying “girls rule” and therefore had the best weekend. Of course Grandpa had a good weekend helping Jason care for the children, and Charlie and Jason also had a guy’s night watching a movie after the kids were in bed!
    Love this family……
