I have to say, we love our job! Over the years, we have had the pleasure, and honor, of capturing some of the finest and most beautiful weddings around. Not only that, but we have the joy of traveling together as a family to the various locations to document these unions. Kevin and Kelly’s wedding was no exception. They are from New Jersey and wedded in historic Savannah, Georgia at a perfect time of year. The couple wanted a unique wedding day from what their friends and family are used to, who all came down from New Jersey to witness the occasion. We hope you enjoy their story told through our photographs in this post!
Kelly and her girls all got ready at the Forsyth Park Inn. Quite a gorgeous place to prepare for getting ready near Monterey Square where the ceremony took place.
Then we moved outside for portraits of the lovely bride.
Kevin is one of the most calming and caring groom.
The wee members of the wedding party.
Of course the dapper little ring bearer!
Before the ceremony the wedding party waits in anticipation as the bride leaves for the ceremony in a horse drawn carriage.
The setting for the ceremony was just perfect! It was at one of the historic squares, Monterey Square. In the center stands the Pulaski monument. It stands there commemorating the Battle of Monterrey. It is also said that there is an unknown Revolutionary War soldier buried beneath the monument. Aside from the history, this square, like many others in Savannah boast beautiful English, Colonial style homes around it with large century old trees with Spanish moss waving in the wind.
The whole day was coordinated by Tricia Huddas who did a wonderful job making sure all goes as planned. As the ceremony started, music filled the air from a small string group, from New Arts Ensemble.
This little guy had was having a long day!
We had to take advantage of the gorgeous afternoon light around Forsyth Park before heading to the reception.
The reception took place at the stately Mansion on Forsyth Park. A gorgeous venue that has a wonderful art collection as well as a modern touch to the interior design.
As guest entered the cocktail area they were greeted with this beautifully designed guest table. This table is complete with name cards, floral center piece and fun favors from the Savannah Bee Company. All the decor and flowers were done by the talented Harvey Designs.
As the evening began, it started with their first dance: The Secret Garden by Bruce Springsteen.
The music was provided by an amazing band, The Dickens, who kept the mood alive and the dance floor filled with people. Their cake was created by the talented Minette Rushing Custom Cakes.
There is something truly special about the dances and what they signify. If you are a bride or groom, our advice is to not get caught up in floating through the day that you miss out on really taking in moments like your first dance or your parent dances. It was special watching the love and respect that Kelly and Kevin have for their parents. Having lost a parent, I, Chris find it special to watch and capture the dance of the mother-son dance. To watch Kevin enjoy every minute with is mom across the dance floor was really touching.
During the reception, we took the couple away and captured a few portraits of them around the property. I leave you with these.
Kelly and Kevin, thank you for the honor of being a part of your day. We loved being a part of your lives! We sincerely wish you the best in your lives together as husband and wife!
Beautiful work guys. I love the crisp images, clean look, not a tonne of photoshop and beautiful emotion. Keep it up!
Love the beautiful black and white under the spanish moss, so dreamy.
The kids are just adorable! You rocked the photos…beautiful! Great shot of Minette’s cake.
Chris & Katie…
Words can not begin to describe how incredible these photos are. We can not wait to see them all. You both are truly gifted, amazing photographers! We can not thank you enough!
Sincerely,
Kelly & Kevin
