Mariam and Graeme had an incredible wedding a few weeks back. It was such a joy to be included in it. Let me give you a little back ground. Mariam is half Persian and half English. Graeme is full Irish. So family had come over from several countries for this wedding. I have never been to a wedding with so much culture and energy. These two were just great and we couldn’t get enough of either of them.

Mariam prepared for her day at the InterContinental Hotel, the wedding was at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and then the reception was back at the Intercontinental. We did portraits of them all over town in between. Mariam had planned her day so well and I love an early ceremony that gives you a few hours between so you don’t have stress to get to the reception. The reception was just perfect as well. Darryl Wiseman did an amazing job with the decor all day long!

Mariam’s dress is a beautiful Pricilla of Boston. The design of the dress as described by Pricilla of Boston: “Silk Satin strapless fit and flare gown with ribbon and crystal embellished Alencon Lace, draped bodice, and pleated skirt.” Doesn’t it just sound dreamy? She looked stunning in it all day long.

Graeme was getting ready in the hotel next door. He wanted to make sure not to see her until she was walking down the isle.

Mariam’s beautiful shoes. I loved how they light came in just perfectly to display this detail.

We are excited to see the blog!!

Laura Powell and Kyle Smith were married on April 4th, 2009. The wedding day consisted of a gathering of family and friends to cheer on the celebration of these two in their union. The wedding took place at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta with its gorgeous stone flooring and beautiful stain glass and even boasting its magnificent pipe organ. This is just one of the prettiest churches in Atlanta. The reception took place at the Capital City Club located in heart of downtown Atlanta. The day started at the Ritz Carlton location in downtown Atlanta, where the wedding party boarded a trolly to the church.

Once at the church the ladies met up with the bride as they prepared for her most important day. I really like the attention Libba Wight, wedding coordinator, is taking to make sure Laura is absolutely perfect!

Laura’s Rivini dress was absolutely gorgeous! The fabric just, ever-so gingerly flows as she gracefully steps. On the exterior of the church, it really exhibits the age and strength behind a church that was built back in 1848. I love the juxtaposition of age versus beauty.

Laura is an architect. So the composition of this image is very intentional. Showing her graceful beauty yet also showing her strong desire for design and structure.

You have to love the children of the wedding! They were absolutely adorable!

After the ceremony they went to the High Museum of Art for photographs next door to the church. Then it was off to downtown in the trolley to the Capital City Club, CCC!

The reception took place on three different floors within the club. The design was simple yet elegant throughout. The music was presented by the all entertaining Tyrone Smith Revue. There was even a special appearance by the equally entertaining Super T! Everyone had a wonderful time catching up with friends and family and not to mention that the dance floor was always full.

Once they left with their guest cheering them off they casually walked a few blocks to the Ritz Carlton’s downtown Atlanta location. This is where their closest friends and family met up with them for a private post-wedding gathering.

The Ritz is recently in the midst of a renovation project that is creating quite a new look for this prestigious hotel. We took advantage of the new areas that were finished by privately taking bride and groom aside.

Congratulations Laura and Kyle! Best wishes to many good years together!
