As you know our non-profit, Recapture, is near and dear to our hearts….so are people who have suffered loss and tragedy. Hurricane Ike and Gustav victims have been greatly overlooked by media. We are teaming up with The Original City event in March to go to Galveston along side of them. They will rebuilding homes and getting people re-established. We’ll go along side of them and do portraits of families. The families will then be given the images. If enough funds are raised they will hopefully be receiving albums and framed prints to hang in their homes.

Recapture desperately needs funding to make this venture happen and that is where you and your generosity comes in to play. Please donate so that we can give these families a sense of connection, stability and self-worth. Recapturing their history and legacy is such an important emotional aspect to their healing and stability. Please help us in this endeavor by donating HERE.

I’m a mail junkie. It’s official. I have been for years and I’m excited about mail time every day. I get ecstatic when it’s good mail…special and a treasure to keep for years. My eyes light up every time and Chris knows to give it right to me as I savor all the details of my little package to be opened.

We love the HIGH Museum of Art and the people that work there. Mainly our friend and neighbor Catharine that works there as the Manager of Special Events. 🙂 Today in the mail we received the most beautiful and intricate card from her. She also included two passes to go see the current The First Emperor Show. Her thoughtfulness really energized and brightened our afternoon. If you have not gone to see the show yet then you must!

Last Friday our friends at Bold and at Kis3 asked us to join them for a little cooking class. Kis3 was introducing Bold to the intricacies of Indian cuisine. We of course could not pass up this opportunity! It was a fun afternoon of taking, learning, creating and enjoying their amazing food. Below are pictures of many of our favorite Bold employees as well as Nirjary and Snehal from Kis3 an event planning company here in Atlanta. These two are such fun and create amazing events all over.

We feasted on chole, chicken biryani, tandoori naan, raita and pickled jeera onions then we finished it off with some wonderful desserts by Bold.
